Barbara Gabriel, MA, MFT is dedicated to helping people identify and work through obstacles to true health and vitality in personal and professional relationships, career, creativity and everyday life. She has over thirty years of experience as a Psychotherapist, Consultant, Teacher and Coach.
Psychology and Art have been her passions from a very young age. After going through the long years of traditional psychoanalysis, she became determined to research, study and work with more efficient and effective ways of healing.
Depth Oriented Brief Therapy (DOBT) is the primary framework of her work with people. Depth Oriented Brief Therapy is a methodology that greatly streamlines therapy. DOBT www.dobt.com applies well established psychotherapeutic principals and processes in focused contemporary ways zeroing in on the deeper specific emotional themes and schemas that maintain problems or symptoms. The work leads to resolution and transformation efficiently and effectively. Barbara has been training and consulting with Bruce Ecker, the originator of Depth Oriented Brief Therapy for over ten years.
She has been studying Integral Shaminism with the Total Integration Institute in Tucson, Arizona for over twenty years. She brings the knowledge, healing, and wisdom gained from these studies to her work as a Psychotherapist, Consultant and Coach.
She is a licensed psychotherapist, holds two certifications in coaching from Robbins Research Institute and Mentor Coach. She holds a 1000 hour Certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner /Educator from the National Holistic Institute. Barbara taught at the National Holistic Institute for ten years. She developed and taught, Counseling and Communication Skills, Nutrition, Stress Management, Business Ethics and Practice and Emotional Health Practices. She also taught Business Marketing and Sales, Time Management and Powerful Presentation Skills. She has consulted with small businesses on healthy productivity and has helped many people make the transition to entrepreneurship. She attended Colorado Woman's College and majored in Art. This is where she began her study of the creative process and has continued to research and work with the key components of creative flow. She helps others in their desire to deepen their creative work and productivity. She went on to do graduate work in Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
She has a passion for vital health, and many forms of athleticism. She holds a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
